Arrowville Consulting, a division of Arrowville Energy Limited, will hold a two-day masterclass on Writing and Speaking Skills for middle-level managers, from 29th to 30th July 2021.
The programme will use exceptional methods to improve substantially participants’ communication skills.
The Executive Chairman of Arrowville Consulting, Ms Abiola SOWOLE, said the topics to be studied include Essential Details of Communication, Functional Elements of English, Confusable Items, Business Jargon, the Internet and Business English, Regularity and Irregularity of Nouns, Verbs, Adjectives and their Usage, the Grammar of Business Reporting, Pronunciation Skills for Business, Overcoming the Fear of Public Speaking, Avoiding Slovenly English and Achieving Clarity, Punctuation, Organizing Successful Meetings and Strategies for Effective Minutes.
She added that “The course will run, in partnership with Lagos State University (LASU) Consults.
“The programme is the most effective writing and speaking skills workshop in Nigeria under the exceptionally high calibre of its resource persons and their total commitment to the improvement of the communication skills of participants, manifested by the time they devote to correcting pre-workshop assignments to ascertain participants’ linguistic difficulties, which are addressed in the course of the programme, and by their assessment of post-workshop performance, which will reveal the benefits of the programme to participants”.

Ms Abiola SOWOLE, the Executive Chairman of Arrowville Consulting, who has a native speaker’s command of English, was a lecturer at Obafemi Awolowo University and the director of an Institute, which ran courses in Effective Communication for bankers, major petroleum companies, government ministries and individual businessmen.
Professor Adeleke FAKOYA, a professor of English and former dean of the Faculty of Arts, LASU, who has written 30 articles, written and co-authored 8 books – one of which is English for Effective Communication – and published academic initiatives online, including an encyclopedia and a collaborative journal of African Studies, which he coordinated at the University of Cambridge.
Professor Oko OKORO, who is a professor of English, Unilag, and whose areas of specialization are in English Grammar, Applied Linguistics, Error Analysis, Business Communication Skills and Editing.
Fees for the programme are N50,000 (Fifty Thousand Naira) + 7.5% VAT.
