Atkins’ engineer Una Brosnan has won the Leader Award, sponsored by the Glasgow Science Centre, at the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards 2015, presented by Scottish Renewables.
Una, principle engineer and project manager in Atkins’ offshore renewables team based in Glasgow, was one of just four finalists to be shortlisted for this award.
Una said: “It really is a great honour to be presented with this award, especially considering the calibre of the other finalists. This is by no means an individual achievement; I’ve been fortunate during my Atkins career to have the support of talented colleagues and industry peers.”
2015 was the first year the Young Professionals Green Energy Awards have been held, and was established to celebrate the contribution that ambitious, driven people are making to businesses, communities and the industry as a whole across Scotland.
Craig Edgar, head of renewables at Atkins, said: “Everyone in the team is thrilled for Una. The award is great recognition of the work that she has done leading on some of our most high-profile projects, and she rightly deserves to be acknowledged as one of our industry’s leading lights.”
Atkins’ renewables business provides robust engineering design and owners’ engineer services, as well as technical advice on emerging clean energy technologies, and counts DONG Energy, SSE, and the Swansea Bay tidal lagoon project amongst its clients.
