NCDMB, Amal Signs Agreement on Technological Solution for Gas Leakages

By Ndubuisi Micheal Obineme

The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) have signed a Shareholder agreement with Amal Technology to further develop smart technology for gas leakages.

The agreement was signed at the sideline of Practical Nigerian Content (PNC) 2021 in Yenegoa, Bayelsa state.

The gas leak detector developed by Amal Technology is the most advanced innovative solution that detects gas leakages to avoid explosions.

According to the company, the detector is an IoT-enabled device capable of sensing hazardous and flammable gas leaks (LPG, Methane, Butane, etc) before reaching dangerous levels.

“We use the technology of Machine Learning. The device is smart enough and it monitors the gas flow and checks for any leakages.

“Once it detects a gas leakage, it will first send you an SMS before calling you.

“If the intensity of the gas is getting high, it will call your mobile phone while shutting down the valves to avoid explosion, and you have to come around to turn it on manually.

“In addition, it triggers a loud auditory alarm.

“We are also trying to develop a sensor whereby it will detect when the gas is about to finish. In this case, the device will send you a message for a gas refill,” the company said.
