H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria to
deliver keynotes address
Lagos, Nigeria – 21 December 2017: The global energy industry will focus on Abuja next February as the national, international companies, potential investors and technology providers will converge at the official Nigeria International Petroleum Summit (NIPS), launched by Acting President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
The five-day thought-leadership and government summit, being held at the International Conference Centre (ICC), located in the heart of Abuja’s business district from 19th – 23rd February 2018, will see Nigeria’s oil and gas industry players present new technologies, product and services in the petroleum sector.
With an innovative agenda featuring regional speakers from Nigerian political decision-makers, government officials as well as directors and specialists from the Ministry, NNPC and other relevant governmental bodies on the one part and Directors of National & International companies, multinational and multilateral organizations, the academia and other relevant stakeholders, NIPS is designed to be the perfect platform for the world to meet Nigeria’s Oil and Gas industry players.
NIPS will feature keynote speakers from the sharp end of the Nigerian oil and gas industry. They are: H.E. Muhammadu Buhari, President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, H.E. Professor Yemi Osinbajo, Vice President, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu, Honourable Minister of State, Petroleum Resources, Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Maikanti Baru, Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Modecia Ladan, Director, Department of Petroleum Resources, Nigeria, Engr. Simbi Wabote, Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board, Bello Aliyu Gusau, Executive Secretary, Petroleum Technology Development Fund, Ahmed Bobboi, Executive Secretary, Petroleum Equalisation Fund.
Honourable Minister of State – Petroleum Resources Federal Republic of Nigeria, Dr. Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu said: “NIPS is Nigeria’s Federal Government’s official industry trade show event and is organized in the true spirit of a Public Private Partnership. The event will create an excellent business environment to interact, cross-pollinate ideas and make deals happen.”
“I launched the 7 Big Wins Programme to grow the Nigerian oil and gas industry. The programmes is aimed at developing a stable and enabling oil and gas landscape with improved transparency, efficiency, stable investment climate, and a well-protected environment,” the minister said
Speaking further, the minister said the on-going reform in the sector presents a new dawn for Africa and it shall provide huge investment opportunities in infrastructure development, oil and gas facilities, operations and maintenance across the oil and gas value chain. He adds: “This effort requires innovative thinking, new ideas, technology and partnership amongst various stakeholders. Such partnerships will enable us improve oil and gas production from our new, mature and marginal fields, explore our frontier basins and improve our local refining capacity.”

NIPS will also feature youth empowerment program strictly for full time education students, country-focus sessions looking individually at the opportunities and challenges of developing and meeting local contents demand.
The 2018 edition will feature major industry trends, aimed at being the most comprehensive coming together of local, regional and international oil companies and service providers, with Nigerian industry players demonstrating the latest technologies transforming industry practices.
The summit is organized by Messrs Brevity Anderson Consortium. The event organizer has invited private sector players to attend and make the most of the opportunity to access and do business with the key industry stakeholders in Nigeria.
