Oil & Gas UK is today confirming that its Activity Survey 2015 will be released on Tuesday 24th February 2015. Following release of that report, Oil & Gas UK, the leading trade association for the offshore oil and gas industry, will embark on a roadshow, debating the report’s results with members across the length and breadth of the country.
The survey will be based on the latest data supplied to us by all exploration and production companies operating in the UK Continental Shelf, providing a well-informed insight into the potential of the vital sector.
Attendees will hear first-hand the latest economic forecasts for the oil and gas industry at the five industry events hosted by Oil & Gas UK, having the chance to debate its findings on investment, production and exploration plans, highlighting also what lies ahead for companies across the UK.
This year’s event will be an extension to last years’ schedule, including Inverness for the first time. Last year’s event saw the addition of events in Newcastle and Norwich for the first time.
The five events are:
Aberdeen Breakfast Briefing, Aberdeen Exhibition and Conference Centre, 24th February 2015, 7am – 9.30am;
Inverness Lunch Briefing, the Kingsmills Hotel & Kingsclub, 25th February 2015, 12 noon – 2pm;
Newcastle Lunch Briefing, The Assembly Rooms (Newcastle) Ltd, 25th February Feb 2015, 12 noon – 2pm;
Norwich Lunch Briefing, The Assembly House, Norwich, 26th February 2015, 12 noon – 2pm;
London Breakfast Briefing, Herbert Smith Freehills LLP, Exchange House, EC2A 2EG, 27th February 2015 8am – 10am.
Mike Tholen, Economics Director, Oil & Gas UK commented:
“There has never been a more crucial time to debate the future of our industry. In recent times, we have seen the oil price cut in half – exacerbating the serious challenge facing our industry.
“Decades of inefficient regulatory stewardship, an unstable fiscal regime, rising costs and declining production, have made this basin uncompetitive.
“I look forward to presenting the survey’s findings with interested parties in a lively a discussion.”
The Aberdeen Breakfast Briefing will be hosted by Oil & Gas UK chief executive Malcolm Webb, and will be hosted at Aberdeen’s AECC, where hundreds of industry experts will hear the headlines from the Activity Survey on the morning of its release. Staying in Scotland, Oonagh Werngren MBE, Operations Director, Oil & Gas UK, will chair Oil & Gas UK’s first event in Inverness on Wednesday 25th February. On the same day, Mike Tholen will chair another intimate event in North East England, in energy hub Newcastle.
Towards the end of that week, Mike Tholen will chair the smaller Norwich Lunch Briefing, finishing the week in London, chairing a Breakfast Briefing which will feature insight from Oonagh Werngren and Adam Davey, Economics and Market Intelligence Manager for Oil & Gas UK.
