PSA Begins Investigation of the Accident at the Sture Terminal, Hordaland County

The PSA has decided to conduct an investigation of the incident at the Sture terminal in Hordaland county on 12 October 2016, in which six people were exposed to H2S (hydrogen sulphide) gas.

The incident occurred during work on a treatment facility for oily water.
The operator of the Sture terminal is Statoil.
The PSA has decided to conduct an investigation of the incident. An investigation team from the PSA will travel to the Sture terminal on 13 October.
The investigation’s objectives include clarifying the chain of events and identifying proximate and underlying causes, with the aim of promoting learning and experience transfer.
The investigation will result in a report that will be published on ptil.no.
