Shell Eco-marathon Americas 2015 has kicked off in Detroit and student teams are busy fine tuning before tech inspection. From April 9-12, teams from five countries take it to the track in Detroit, MI, USA, pushing the boundaries of fuel efficiency. Hundreds of young engineers will compete in the ultimate energy-efficiency challenge. And visitors of all ages can enjoy a free fun-packed event with interactive attractions.
SEM2015 brings together over 100 student teams from 5 countries to compete in the ultimate energy-efficiency challenge. Here we have Brazilian team Eco-Veículo (left) and Canadian team Queen’s Eco-Vehicle Team (right) fine-tuning their vehicles before competition day. Combined they traveled over 8,000km to compete at this year’s event!
For tech inspection the teams have to pass through 11 different safety tests to be allowed on track, ranging from seat belt to breaking
