Managing Director of Shell Nigeria Exploration and Production Company (SNEPCO), Mrs. Elohor Aiboni, has said her company will bring more offshore projects onstream before the end of the year, 2022.

In an interview with The Energy Republic, SNEPCO’s Managing Director, Mrs. Elohor Aiboni, said that Nigeria remains an important part of Shell’s Deepwater portfolio.

“We are resuming infill drilling and completion activities to bring additional new oil capacity onstream before the end of the year.

“We are also targeting a near field exploration/appraisal opportunity which we hope to quickly develop within 12 months”.

Speaking about the latest updates on Bonga Southwest, Aiboni disclosed that Shell has obtained the license renewal for the OML-118 block.

“We are working with our partners and government stakeholders to mature some major projects including Bonga North and Bonga Southwest to a final investment decision in the coming years”, she said.

The oil field at Bonga operated by Shell has produced more than 900 million barrels of oil since coming online in 2005. Through FPSO upgrades and subsea tiebacks to developments, such as Bonga North West, capacity has continued to grow.
