Association of the German Biofuels Industry (VDB) will present pathways for biofuels development at the upcoming 20th International Conference on Renewable Mobility “Fuels of the Future” scheduled to hold from 23-24 January 2023 in Berlin, Germany.
VDB represents the interest of German biofuel producers at the national and European levels. Since 2001, VDB represents German biofuel producers through political and public dialogue with constant contact with the German Bundestag as well as representatives of civil society.
In an interview with The Energy Republic, Elmar Baumann, Managing Director of VDB said that Biofuels will contribute to the energy mix in Europe for a longer time and the association’s main objective is to help provide recommendations on the legislative framework for biofuels development which will also support its member companies to invest more in advance biofuels and expand their production facilities across Europe.
Speaking about the conference, Baumann explained that there will be presentations for research and development (R&D) projects for biofuel production, including a special report about the latest trends in the biofuels market in Europe and other parts of the world.
According to him, “VDB will discuss political developments and decisions, including implications on RED III legislative frameworks. There will be a discussion about German politics.
“There will also be a discussion on the global biofuels market in Europe, Canada, USA, and India. This will contribute quite well to the experience of the participants”.
VDB is a co-organizer of the 20th International Conference on Renewable Mobility “Fuels of the Future”. The association currently has 15 ordinary and 3 extraordinary members that produce about 2.4 million tons of biodiesel (and 900 GWh of biomethane) which represents 60 percent of German biodiesel production.
