DALLAS,  — The most recent industry report from the American Wind Energy Association (AWEA) shows Dallas-based Tri Global Energy heading up 17 percent of total U.S. wind farm construction activity with a project development total of 3,621 megawatts (MW). This represents a record for the nine-year-old company, which has become a leading U.S. originator and developer of utility-scale wind energy.

AWEA’s Q2 2018 Market Report also shows Tri Global Energy leads Texas with more than 66 percent of all wind development currently under construction in the state. During Q2 2018, wind energy development for the U.S. industry reached a record 18,987 MW. Texas continued its lead among other states with 29 percent of the total U.S. wind project construction activity.

“The wind industry continues to show American leadership by bringing low-cost clean energy to market,” said John Billingsley, Chairman and CEO at TGE. “TGE’s performance reflects our innovative spirit and capability, and we are proud to work with the many local communities which host our wind projects.

“We have a bold vision for our energy future — to develop clean energy at an affordable cost,” Billingsley said. “For our nation to achieve energy independence, we need to produce more renewable energy.”

Wind power’s low cost makes it one of the most competitive energy sources in many parts of the nation.
