Recently, the Wellhead Platform jacket destined for the Maersk Oil operated Culzean field left its construction yard in Vlissingen, the Netherlands. After a journey of 2-3 days, it will be joined at Culzean’s field location, approximately 250 km east of Aberdeen by the Wellhead Access deck constructed in Hartlepool.
Drilling of the first of Culzean’s six production wells is expected later in 2016, in preparation for expected first gas in 2019.
At peak production, it’s expected that the field can meet around 5% of UK gas demand.
