Brampton Seeks New Skills, Enterpreneurs to Expand its Business Horizon

Brampton, a Canadian city in Ontario’s Greater Toronto Area, seeks Nigerian entrepreneurs in major industries to align with their 2040 development goals.

In an interview with our correspondent at the sideline of the Nigeria-Canada Investment Summit, 2019 held on 4 – 5 November 2019 in Abuja, Charmaine Williams, Brampton’s City Councilor, said that there are a lot of opportunities in Innovation & Technology, Manufacturing, and Cyber Security.

According to her, Brampton is a city that values talent, but, is looking for people who can actually do the jobs with the required skills to help their business grow.

“Nigerian entrepreneurs bring so much wealth in entrepreneur skills which are very vital for the city’s further growth.

“We are in need of skills in every sector, such as trade, cybersecurity, technology and most importantly, the health sector,” she added.

She concluded that Nigerians are dedicated and hardworking.

In 2018, Charmaine Williams was elected as Brampton’s City Councilor, Ward 7 and 8.

Williams’s appointment is a historic one for Brampton as she becomes the first black woman to be elected to the council in that city.
