The 19th International Conference & Exhibition on Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG2019) is presented by the International Gas Union (IGU), Gas Technology Institute (GTI) and the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) – the only LNG event owned by the industry, run for the industry. The theme of LNG2019 is “LNG for a Sustainable Energy Future”.
The 2019 edition will be the biggest LNG event ever held in China, the world’s fastest growing LNG market. China overtook South Korea as the world’s second-largest LNG importer in 2017 with imports of 38 million tonnes, 46 percent higher than the previous year. Asia has been the focus of the industry’s greatest investments in LNG import and export infrastructure in recent years and China now has 21 LNG receiving terminals, providing the perfect backdrop to LNG2019.
LNG2019 Programme Committee Chairman Dr Nirmal Chatterjee comments: “The LNG X series of events stand out from all other natural gas related conferences due to the depth and breadth of the commercial and technical contents of its sessions. The Plenary Programme now features over 25 leaders of the LNG industry, including CEOs of both Chinese and international companies such as CNPC, Beijing Gas, Chevron, KOGAS, Total, Gazprom, Cheniere Energy, Petronas and many more. These high-level, globally relevant sessions will focus on the future of LNG across topics including ‘The Global Outlook for LNG’, ‘A Sustainable Fuel for a Sustainable Future’, ‘The Changing Map of Supply’ and ‘Opportunities in the China LNG Market’.
Following a successful Call for Abstracts, the remainder of the programme has now been confirmed in a mixture of commercial and technical Paper Sessions, LNG Forums and the Research & Innovation Showcase.
The LNG Forums consist of panellists exploring the challenges and potential of specific areas of the LNG industry. These highly topical discussions will look at LNG within the global energy transition, technical innovations, what the industry has learnt from floating LNG and the diversity of LNG plant capacities.
