Gazprom Gas Supplie to Reach Over 2,400 Bishkek Households in 2016
A Gazprom delegation headed by Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Company’s Management Committee, visited Kyrgyzstan. Bishkek hosted a meeting between Alexey Miller and Almazbek Atambayev, President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues related to bilateral cooperation in the gas sector, focusing, among other things, on the reconstruction of Kyrgyzstan’s gas transmission system (GTS) under the General Scheme of Gas Supply to and Gasification of the Kyrgyz Republic. In this context, the meeting participants reviewed in detail the progress of the modernization and construction of facilities at the Bukhara Gas-Bearing Province – Tashkent – Bishkek – Almaty gas trunkline.
Alexey Miller and Almazbek Atambayev paid particular attention to gas supplies delivered to consumers in the new heating season. It was noted that Gazprom Kyrgyzstan had completed all of its planned repair and maintenance operations across the country’s GTS and had fully prepared the GTS for the 2016–2017 autumn/winter period.
The meeting also touched upon the gasification process in Kyrgyzstan. Gasification efforts are currently underway in Bishkek’s residential complexes and population centers in the Chuy Region. Pipeline gas will reach over 2,400 Bishkek households in 2016.
Alexey Miller and Almazbek Atambayev attended the opening ceremony of Bishkek’s first sports and recreation center built as part of the Gazprom for Children program.
The center will serve as a training and competition venue for futsal, basketball, volleyball, handball, court tennis, and various martial arts. The new center is the fifth sports complex built by Gazprom in Kyrgyzstan.
Bishkek, Alexey Miller and Kyrgyz Prime Minister Sooronbay Jeenbekov took part in the ceremony marking the start of gas supplies to the Kok-Zhar residential complex and the opening ceremony for a new office building of Bishkekgaz, Gazprom Kyrgyzstan’s largest branch.
