Greenland Energy Company has announced it will drill two wells in Jameson Basin by 2026, positioning the Island to become an alternative source for the global energy supply chain and reduce dependence on foreign rivals amid rising geopolitical tensions.

The Jameson Land Basin, located in eastern Greenland, is one of the highly prospective and undrilled basins globally, with a genetic link to the North Sea. The basin holds 13 billion barrels of proven oil reserves.

Speaking in an interview with The Energy Republic, Larry Swets, Executive Chairman of Greenland Energy Company, said the Jameson Land Basin has the potential to create energy independence for Greenland and become one of the most significant basins in the Northern Hemisphere.

“As in World War II, Greenland continues to be relevant – both geopolitically and economically,” Larry reiterated, adding that Greenland Energy Company provides a boost to the independence of Greenland and will support energy independence objectives for the United States and Europe.

“Our company will be merged with March GL Company, such that we have only one operating company, Greenland Energy Company,” Larry revealed. “Our business combination will allow the American people to play a significant part in the potential economic freedom of Greenland.

“We plan to drill the first two wells in 2026. Our strategic partnerships with the people and government of Greenland are key to the overall success.”

However, he stated that the March GL Company would play a key role by attracting significant investment to unlock economic opportunities and revenues for Greenland.

“We are developing an industry that will increase Greenland’s standing in geopolitics without having to bend a knee to any particular sovereign influence.

“We see incorporating other low-carbon energies as we aim to develop the oil and gas resources,” he added.
