Klaipėda port Green Hydrogen Project Reaches a Major Milestone
MT Group has formerly announced that the electrolyzer for Klaipėda Port’s green hydrogen refueling station has officially passed its Factory Acceptance Test (FAT).
In a statement made known to The Energy Republic, the company revealed that the test took place at IMI Remosa’s facility in Cagliari, Italy, with Algis Latakas, CEO of the Port of Klaipėda, joining the team to witness this important step.
This important milestone brings the first green hydrogen refueling station in Baltic region one step closer to reality.
Funded through the EU Green Hydrogen initiative, the project will help Klaipėda Port lead the way in sustainable mobility and hydrogen infrastructure in Lithuania.
“Our engineering team worked closely with IMI to make sure the electrolyzer production plant meets the highest standards for quality and safety,” said Vaidas Balčetis, MT Group Engineering Manager. “Completing the FAT is a big step toward delivering Klaipėda’s first green hydrogen station and setting a benchmark for future projects in the region.”
It’s not only a technical success; it’s also a meaningful move forward in Lithuania’s energy transition and the development of sustainable port infrastructure.
