The Executive Secretary, NCDMB, Mr Simbi Wabote, disclosed this on Tuesday at the opening of the virtual 2021 Nigerian Oil and Gas Opportunity Fair.

Wabote noted that NOGOF is conceived as a platform for showcasing opportunities across the value chain of the Nigerian oil and gas industry, adding that the theme of this year’s event which is ‘’Leveraging Opportunities and Synergies for Post Pandemic Recovery Of The Nigerian Oil & Gas Industry’’ underscores the need for industry collaboration to face the current market situation and harnessing the opportunities in the oil and gas industry in Nigeria.

According to him, the Board plans to complete eight oil and gas projects within the next two years and focus on key areas such as developing strategic policies for investment, infrastructure, and capacity development.

In his words, “I would like to use this opportunity to announce the Board’s commitment to what we will deliver between now and the next NOGOF event.

“We will complete and commission two additional modular refineries in Edo and Bayelsa States. This implies delivery of one modular refinery per year within 3 years.

“We shall complete and commission composite LPG cylinder manufacturing plants with a combined capacity of 1.2million cylinders per annum.

“We shall commission three other projects dedicated to gas processing, LPG bottling, and production of base oil.

“We shall commission and commence operations from our industrial parks at Odukpani and Emeyal-1 in Bayelsa State.

“We shall commercialize at least one R&D project, close skills gaps in under-water welding and any other core skill required in the industry.”

For investments in Nigeria content project, Wabote revealed that the Board have committed a total of US$332 million under its commercial ventures partnership programme intending to attract more project developments in-country valued at US$3.7 billion.
