NOG Energy Week, Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest international energy event, has unveiled its strategic conference program, with renewable energy and hydrogen development featured in this year’s NOG event.

This strategic conference bolsters NOG Energy Week deliverables in the Africa’s renewable energy sector, which will highlight the role of renewable energy in the African energy mix.

The 2025 edition of NOG Energy Week scheduled to take place from 29 June – 3rd July 2025 in Abuja, will also unravel Nigeria’s energy potential beyond oil and gas, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in the Nigerian renewable energy sector.

The theme for NOG Energy Week 2025, ‘Accelerating Global Energy Progress Through Investment, Partnerships And Innovation’, will provide participants an opportunity to explore the growth and investment opportunities in the Nigerian renewable energy sector.

In a statement released by dmg events, the NOG event organizer, revealed that this year’s NOG Energy Week will attract leading hydrogen stakeholders to share credible insights including technology solutions, innovative business models, and effective collaborations that are key to developing a sustainable hydrogen economy in Nigeria.

According to the event organizer, the 2025 NOG strategic conference will provide more insights into understanding how demand for hydrogen can be stimulated at scale and establish it as a viable and profitable contributor to the Nigerian energy sector.

Hydrogen holds immense potential in reducing emissions and supporting the decarbonization of hard-to-abate sectors such as transport, power generation, and heavy industry.

As a clean and highly versatile energy carrier, hydrogen offers a promising path for Nigeria’s energy sector, ensuring that it remains globally competitive and significantly contributes towards the target of reducing carbon emissions by 20% by 2030, as outlined in the Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

The 2025 NOG Strategic Conference provides a platform for industry stakeholders and players to discuss ‘Unlocking A New Hydrogen Economy To Bridge Energy Demand Gaps’, with a focus on public-private sector partnerships, innovative technologies, R&D, creating favorable market conditions, securing large-scale financing and de-risking investments to scale up production infrastructure and ensure commercial returns.

Discussions would also be centralized on how can the development of a viable, integrated hydrogen market be accelerated, and which production methods offer the best growth opportunities.

Other key topics to be discussed at this year’s NOG Energy Week strategic conference on renewable energy include:

What is required to foster international and domestic investment and partnerships?

How can infrastructure investment be driven to capture a share of the expanding hydrogen market in Nigeria?
