Program aligns workforce development with gigawatt-scale AI, data center, and energy expansion

HOUSTON, TX March 22, 2026 – As global energy and technology leaders convene at CERAWeek 2026, Adaptive Construction Solutions (ACS), the nation’s largest energy sector registered apprenticeship intermediary, has announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to develop and deploy up to 10,000 new apprentices supporting the buildout of U.S. AI and energy infrastructure.

The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL)-registered apprenticeship initiative is designed to accelerate workforce readiness across critical skilled trades, including electricians, HVAC technicians, pipefitters, ironworkers, welders, and system installers and to support the rapid expansion of AI data centers, substations, transmission systems, and grid interconnections.

Developed in collaboration with leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) firms, including Saulsbury Industries, McCarthy Building Companies, Aerotek, and No Bull Energy, the program integrates paid, on-the-job training with NVIDIA-supported curriculum, simulation technologies, and advanced digital tools.

“Employers are the true driving force of workforce transformation,” said Nicholas Morgan, President and Founder of ACS. “By aligning apprenticeship models with real-world industry demand, we are accelerating skill delivery, improving safety and retention, and building the workforce required to deliver America’s infrastructure at scale.”

Addressing a Structural Workforce Challenge
The initiative responds directly to mounting labor market pressures across the construction and energy sectors. According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the U.S. will face more than 649,000 annual openings in construction and extraction occupations through 2034, compounded by a rapidly accelerating retirement wave.

Through its national apprenticeship infrastructure, ACS is uniquely positioned to connect incumbent workers, veterans, and new entrants to high-quality, industry-recognized career pathways aligned with America’s industrial and energy priorities.

Powering AI Infrastructure at Scale
In collaboration with NVIDIA, the program supports the deployment of gigawatt-scale AI infrastructure, leveraging advanced technologies to modernize workforce training and project delivery.

Engineering and construction partners are working alongside NVIDIA to integrate digital twins, AI enabled system modeling, and validated design architectures across complex power, mechanical, and electrical systems enabling AI-driven facilities to dynamically interact with energy grids at unprecedented scale.
