PETAN Releases Strategic Conference Program for SAIPEC 2025

Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) has released the conference programme for the 2025 Sub-Saharan Africa International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, SAIPEC, with the theme “Building Africa’s Future: Advancing Local Content and Sustainable Development in the Oil & Gas Industry”, at the forefront of the conference deliverables.
SAIPEC, hosted by PETAN will return for its ninth edition, taking place from 11 – 13 February 2025 at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria. The conference plays a vital role in charting the pathways to developing Africa’s untapped energy resources.
Speaking in an interview with The Energy Republic, SAIPEC Conference Chair and Managing Director, Poseidon Energy, Ibe Chubby Ibe said preparations are ongoing to host this year’s SAIPEC event, noting that the 2025 edition promises to be bigger, better, and more elaborate in terms of topical discussions, including networking opportunities, key projects presentations for business development.
He said, “SAIPEC 2025 will feature a Country Showcase and panel discussion by National Oil Companies from Sub-Saharan Africa. Another panel discussion will be held by regulators and governments to discuss policy frameworks and navigate the risks around investments.
“We will also discuss how African IOCs and Independents will drive Africa’s Energy. They will share how they plan to maximize local capacity and ensure economic growth by acquiring new assets.
“African Gas Strategies and Opportunities is another strategic topic, while the African Content Forum Series will continue in partnership with the NCDMB to discuss topics such as Local Content and the Private Sector, The Power Hour – to discuss a potential local content roadmap for the year ahead against where Africa has been in the past year.
“SAIPEC Diversity, Equality and Inclusion session will spotlight the achievements of African Women in the Energy sector, while the SAIPEC Future Generation Conference will engage the youths with empowering insights from industry leaders as a youth empowerment program”.
In addition to the SAIPEC programme, Ibe stated that Dr. Omar Faruk Ibrahim, APPO Secretary-General will deliver a keynote address, highlighting the latest developments in African Energy Bank.
