President Donald Trump supports Argentina’s talks with the IMF
United States President, Donald Trump, President of the United States, called President Mauricio Macri of Argentina this morning. The two leaders spoke for 10 minutes.
President Macri explained to his US counterpart Argentina’s challenge of reducing the fiscal deficit as well as the opening of talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
Trump expressed his support for the talks between Argentina and the IMF, and Macri expressed gratitude for the statements of support from David Malpass, Under Secretary of the Treasury.
The two leaders also discussed relevant issues on the global agenda such as the G20 (which Argentina leads this year), North Korea and the situation in Venezuela.
