Just to provide an overview, the African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) and the African Petroleum Producers Organization (APPO) have resolved to work together to establish an African Energy Bank (AEB).
The Bank is dedicated to supporting an Africa-led Energy Transition strategy that is consistent with preserving the oil and gas industry for economic prosperity.
The Africa Energy Bank, which will focus investment in oil and gas projects across the continent, is set to start operations by June 2024 with an initial $5 billion authorized capital base, according to the APPO Secretary General.
