The company is looking for around 700 new apprentices in Turkey, 270 in Germany and 100 in the UK

Good news for young people in Europe. In the new year E.ON will be hiring around 1,000 apprentices. In Turkey for example E.ON is recruiting around 700, in Germany 270 and the in the UK 100 young people for various training positions in technical and administrative areas. With a very high post-apprenticeship employment rate of 87 percent, E.ON is actively tackling the shortage of skilled workers. “With our large number of apprenticeships we are taking responsibility for the future of many young people. The better our apprentices are qualified, the greater their contribution to the innovative power and the competitiveness of our company, all to the benefit of our customers”, says Johannes Teyssen, Chairman of the Board at E.ON SE.

There is a varied range of attractive apprenticeship programs. In Germany E.ON is offering not only the classic dual training scheme – for example as an electrician for operating technology, an electrician for devices and systems (IT) or as an industrial administrator – but also a combined study and work program. Here the young people can pursue an apprenticeship in the company in combination with a degree at a university. After the apprenticeship they will then hold a Bachelor of Engineering or a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration.

In Germany most of the new employees begin their training at the grid companies Bayernwerk, Avacon, HanseWerk and E.DIS. In total almost 1,000 young people are employed in apprenticeships at E.ON in Germany alone.
