PlanET Develops Biogas Plant Worldwide, Seeks Long-term Partnership
By Ndubuisi Micheal Obineme
PlanET Biogas Group, a global leader in biogas solutions and developer of biogas plants is seeking partners worldwide for biogas development. With over 25 years of operational excellence, PlanET specializes in the design, construction, and service of advanced biogas plants.
Biogas provides multiple value-added benefits to the global economy and the energy transition has allowed biogas to gain a firm foothold in global energy consumption. The global biogas market was valued at US$ 53.61 billion in 2021 and it is projected to be worth around US$ 78.8 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 4.4% from 2022 to 2030, according to the report.
In an interview with Construction Crew Limited at EnergyDecentral 2022 in Hannover, Carson Managing Director of PlanET said, “Biogas production is easy because it involves the processing of using substrates or waste streams such as food waste, industrial waste to be poured into a digester for processing and it takes 50-60 days or longer-time to process the waste materials for biogas production and it can be used to produce electricity, heating source, biomethane which can be used as a fuel.
“In the coming years, hydrogen will be coming from the biogas sector. It will be the future in the next 3 – 5 years but we need to close the gap in terms of the technology that will be used for the production.”
Speaking about the company’s capacity, Carson said that PlanET also specializes in the biogas engineering side, including the construction of gas-to-grid plants, commissioning biological service with add-ons of CHP biomethane, Carbon dioxide, liquefaction, CNG, and LNG.
“We are a family company with 25 years of operational excellence in the market with more than six other plants worldwide. We are one of the leading biogas providers, a biogas station provider that has more than 90 gas upgrades inside of the grid.
“PlantET started building the gas-to-grid plants in 2012 and in France, we have six plants inside of the grid and in the coming weeks we will get ten new stations.
“In the UK, we build between 350 to 500 cubic meters of biogas plants which is converted to electricity between 601 megawatts.
“Everybody in the UK is more interested in biomethane, carbon dioxide, and liquefaction to use biomethane inside of the grid for heating systems and to reduce the emissions for the UK market.
“We are looking for partners where we can sign a long-term partnership with them for biogas development,” he added.
PlanET is a global company with subsidiaries in Canada, North America, Brazil, Germany, France, Japan, and other parts of the world. The company ranks among the leading biogas plant builders and has designed, constructed, and serviced over 600 anaerobic digestion systems globally.
PlanET has a high success rate in the biogas market which makes them strong and active in the biogas market.
