With a short, direct speech, the president of Argentina, Mauricio Macri, today thanked the presence of finance ministers, presidents of central banks and heads of international organizations in Buenos Aires and invited them to show that “the G20 is an effective mechanism to meet the global challenges of the twentyfirst century “.
At the close of the first meeting of finance ministers and Central Bank presidents that develops in the CEC, the President noted the importance of the meeting. “Chairing the G20 is one of the biggest challenges in our history. We have assumed with pride and humility. And we are doing as mediators in good faith, fostering consensus and dialogue , “he said.
In that sense, Latin America marked the approach in addressing the various issues. “We are carrying out the presidency of the G20 with a view of the south, but not referring only to southern Argentina. This is a region of peace, a developing region that has much to contribute both energy security and food security. And therefore it is necessary that the G20 put the needs of people in the foreground, with a deep focus on equity and sustainability , “he said.
