Shell Receives Nigeria’s ‘Most Impactful Local Content Company’ Award at NOGOF 2019

Shell Companies in Nigeria has been recognised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) for most ‘Impactful Local Content Development Initiatives’ in the upstream category at the NOGOF 2019 awards ceremony held in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

Shell won the industry award by beating other competitors like Total who came second and Exxon Mobil third position respectively at the 2nd edition of NOGOF organised by the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

The Executive Secretary of NCDMB, Engr Simbi Wabote, who presented the award, singled out Shell Companies in Nigeria for exemplary support to local vendors and suppliers in the oil and gas industry, which, he said, enabled greater participation of Nigerians in the service value chain.

Receiving the award, Managing Director of The Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria Limited (SPDC) and Country Chair, Shell Companies in Nigeria, Mr Osagie Okunbor, described the recognition as an important acknowledgement for the impressive work Shell companies continue to do in Nigeria content development.

He said, “This award is a strong recognition of our leadership in the Nigerian content development space. Nigerian content development remains a very important step in our growth aspiration as Shell Companies in Nigeria rolls out the next phase of major projects.”

NOGOF 2019 took place on 4 – 5 April, 2019 at the new Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board Headquarters Oxbow Lake, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. This year’s fair is themed ‘Maximizing Investments in The Oil and Gas Industry for the benefit of the Nigerian People’ as the objective of the Fair is to bring together major players across the Upstream, Midstream and Downstream sectors as well as the Government Agencies and Industry Regulators, to showcase Opportunities in the Nigerian Oil and Gas industry and present available in-country capacity.

With over 20 Project Opportunity Presentations by Chevron Nigeria Ltd, ExxonMobil Nigeria, Greenville LNG, Nigeria Agip Oil Company, Pinnacle Oil & Gas, Shell Petroleum Development Company, Total E&P Nigeria and many more Upstream, Midstream and Downstream Oil and Gas companies.
